The Group Metalor has 3 business units, each corresponding to a group of specific markets: Refining, Electrotechnics and Advanced Coatings.

Based at our site in Marin, we are currently looking for a:

Software Engineer

As an active member of the development team in Switzerland, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance and support of high value-added software that supports operational business. As part of a small team of developers in Switzerland and near-shore, you will actively manage projects and participate in software developments alongside experienced engineers, allowing you to develop your skills.

This position reports to our Group IT Manager.

Your Mission

Development & Project Management (~80%):

  • Analysis of business needs and proposal of high value-added solutions
  • Establish technical specifications and division of technical tasks
  • Software development within the team based on skills/affinities
  • Managing integrations, gathering business feedback, and making the necessary adjustments
  • Deploying solutions and following up with the operational business
  • Writing technical and functional documentation
  • Monitoring technology and actively seeking business-oriented solutions

Business Services / Support (~20%):

  • Provide level 2 - 3 application support and ticket resolution
  • Develop and deploy bug fixes for various applications
  • Develop patches or functional improvements and deploy them
  • Manage and track incidents with technical teams as necessary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge of object-oriented programming (C#, .Net preferred)
  • Good knowledge of SQL databases (noSQL would be a plus)
  • Knowledge of other languages (Angular, TypeScript, Javascript, HTML, CSS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of software architecture, Sharepoint, or Azure would be a plus
  • Very good command of English
  • Curious, motivated to learn, efficient, and solution-oriented
  • Proactive, rigorous, and reliable, with a strong will to take initiatives
