Product Development Specialist - Accessories (a)

Our client is a large organization within the FMCG industry that specializes in delivering innovative and high-quality products in Zurich. They pride themselves on fostering a professional and collaborative environment to drive excellence in their field. This temporary position with start in December for 6 months is based in Zurich and requires a detail-oriented professional with expertise in product development and design processes.

Hybrid working model (3 days onsite, 2 day HO). There is a take-over perspective.

Description

The successful candidate will be involved in the development of high-quality fashion accessories. The main responsibilities are as follows:

• Coordinating the product development process for fashion accessories from concept to production.
• Collaborating with design, production, and supply chain teams to ensure timely project delivery.
• Conducting market research to identify trends and integrating them into product designs.
• Evaluating and selecting materials, ensuring compliance with quality and sustainability standards.
• Maintaining detailed documentation of product specifications and development progress.
• Overseeing sample creation and providing feedback for improvements.
• Communicating with external vendors and suppliers to ensure smooth production processes.
• Supporting the team in identifying cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.

Profile

The successful candidate should have:

• Educational background in product design or development, or related fields.
• minimum 4 years experience in product development of accessories ( e.g. bags, headwear, gloves, socks, and small soft goods) or apparel
• Strong understanding of the FMCG and fashion industries.
• Experience in managing product lifecycles and coordinating with cross-functional teams. Project management skills are an advantage.
• Proficiency in relevant design tools and software.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
