Lib4RI - Library for the Research Institutes within the ETH Domain: Eawag, Empa, PSI & WSL - is the joint library of the Research Institutes within the ETH Domain. Lib4RI is an innovative service provider for the approximately 4,000 employees of the four institutions. The library focuses on a comprehensive range of electronic media and web-based, customer-friendly services. Both are constantly being developed and adapted to the changing needs of the users.
For the further development of our services, we are looking for a
Data Steward / Data Manager 80-100% (m/f/d)
The Lib4RI is expanding its services to include research data management (RDM) support to researchers, as part of the
swissuniversities Open Science Programme. This position would be a 1-year contract with possibility of extension.
What exactly can you expect?
- Curate and make accessible RDM resources for the research community
- Collaborate with research groups to automate workflows and support open data publication with rich metadata and policy compliance
- Assist researchers in integrating existing infrastructures and tools for managing and sharing research data
- Support researchers in developing data management plans
- Work closely with the scientific IT teams of the four research institutes to establish or automate RDM workflows and to provide other data management support as needed
What do you bring to the table?- University degree, preferably in the natural or engineering sciences
- In-depth knowledge of research data management, open research data,
and FAIR data principles - Extensive IT skills (for example, experience with Python, R, SQL, XML, JSON, Git)
- Clear communicator, with strong communication skills in English; German language skills are an advantage
- Ability to work independently and in a structured manner, a high degree of service orientation, initiative, and willingness to take on responsibility
