Technical Product Manager - CPE and Connect Home
Key Responsibilities
CPE Portfolio Maintenance
- Maintain and continuously improve the current portfolio of Salt CPEs and repeaters.
- Report field issues to CPE vendors, troubleshoot problems, and provide structured data to support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Coordinate and actively participate in regular technical meetings with CPE vendors to align responsibilities, priorities, and action plans.
- Define the scope and content of maintenance firmware releases.
- Develop and execute validation test plans for vendor firmware releases.
- Participate in cross-OpCo technical forums within the Company Group to drive harmonized CPE specifications and solutions.
New Product Selection & Development
- Execute RFI/RFQ processes for the selection of new CPE and extender products.
- Contribute to the end-to-end development of new CPEs and extenders:
- Define and maintain technical specifications.
- Contribute to hardware, housing, and packaging design decisions.
- Work closely with vendor project managers to define and track project timelines (DVT, PVT, firmware drops, certifications, validations, launch readiness).
- Coordinate with Salt IT and Network teams to ensure readiness for new product introduction.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to support successful product launches, migrations, and subscription growth.
- Manage firmware deployment and supervision through the CPE ACS platform.
- Work closely with Support and Care teams to collect customer feedback and field issues.
Connected Home & Platform Evolution
- Contribute to the development of new Connected Home services (e.g., device security, gateway security, service-aware QoS).
- Participate in the definition, deployment, and lifecycle management of CPE management systems.
- Lead small to medium-sized technical projects within the Connected Home domain.
- Lead internal technical forums to introduce new features, resolve complex issues, and shape future solutions.
- Collaborate with domain experts across the organization to build shared technical vision and consensus.
- Prepare clear and impactful technical documentation and communication materials for internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Take ownership of technical decisions and drive assigned projects to successful delivery.
What You Bring
- Master’s degree in Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering.
- 5 years of experience with network devices and CPE platforms.
- 3 years of experience leading small to medium-sized projects in a Telco environment.
- Deep technical expertise in several of the following areas:
- CPE hardware and firmware
- TR-069 / TR-369
- Wi-Fi technologies
- XGS-PON / FTTH
- VoIP
- IoT
- Linux
- xDSL
- Proven hands-on experience working with live systems and real devices — not limited to documentation or RFP processes.
- Strong technical curiosity and continuous learning mindset; self-driven and comfortable exploring unfamiliar domains.
- Ability to define long-term technical direction while remaining pragmatic and delivery focused.
- Strong technical judgment when evaluating vendor solutions and technology maturity with limited information.
- Confidence to challenge assumptions and suppliers constructively, while remaining open to feedback.
- Collaborative team player, comfortable in deep technical working sessions with colleagues and vendors.
- Structured, top-down problem solver with strong prioritization skills and focus on impact.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proactive, approachable, and quality-driven personality.
- Fluency in English (C1 or higher). Additional languages are a plus.
