As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for a Windows Client Engineer with extensive experience in managing and optimising Windows client environments.
Job description:
This is an initial contract running for 2.5 until March 2028 years with strong likelihood to extend on a long-term basis (up to max five years) based on the project road maps, with start date by 1 Jan 2026.
Key responsibilities include managing services across Platform Management, Application Management, and Systems Hardening to ensure endpoint clients meet diverse business requirements while adhering to internal policies and industry standards. The team collaborates closely with internal stakeholders and third-party providers to address all aspects of the client environment.
The Windows Client Engineer will work in an experienced and diverse Infrastructure Team responsible for delivering a customer-centric workplace platform that prioritises security while empowering individual productivity and collaboration. By enabling access from anywhere, on any device, at any time, the team supports a modern, innovative, and highly protected work environment.
The successful candidate will mainly support the design, implementation, and management of the client infrastructure. The client infrastructure specialist will play a key role in maintaining and optimising the client environment. The successful candidate will be overseeing the application lifecycle, migrating on-premises processes to the cloud, and ensuring exceptional incident management, change management and customer service.
Responsibilities include:
- Implement, maintain, and enhance the platform for managing the endpoint environment.
- Define, configure, and manage the client desktop experience to optimise the user environment.
- Provide third-level support for Windows clients, including performance monitoring and resolution of client performance issues.
- Deliver third-level support for the organisation's core applications (e.g., Office, Adobe), ensuring performance monitoring and timely resolution of issues.
- Implement and maintain a secure client endpoint posture, ensuring compliance with organisational standards and expectations.
- Manage and maintain the organisation's mobile device platform.
- Contribute to the adoption of new Microsoft cloud services and support the maintenance of existing ones.
- On call work once every 5-6 weeks

Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you will possess as many of the following skills as possible:
- 5+ years of experience as Senior Systems Engineer (3rd level/3rd line).
- Deep understanding of the Windows operating system and related technology stack, including Intune, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure.
- Expertise in policies and management options for Windows and iOS devices using Microsoft Intune.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows Autopilot, Desktop Analytics, Conditional Access, Mobile Application Management, and Intune Application Lifecycle.
- Experience in creating technical documentation and rolling it out to individuals and teams to establish procedures and standards.
- Strong background in Desktop Support with a proven track record of delivering large-scale, Microsoft-focused solutions using SCCM and Group Policy Objects (GPO).
- Experience providing 3rd level support.
- Fluency in English
